Hey that was really charming. It was great as is, but it was so fun I wanted more. Larger map, biomes, different crops... Also, I couldn't tell what happiness affected.
Glad you enjoyed it! It is just a pico-8 game, so the tiny size of it all was a given. Though since many more people like it than I ever thought, I might work on a "proper" version of it at some point! :)
Happiness affects if peeple join or leave the village! Should've made this clearer, you're right.
nice, but windmills need to stack the effect of auto harvest crops, once you get 20+ people you start to have to manually harvest often or they run out of food
LazyDevsAcademy has some amazing tutorial series on YouTube to get started! But other than that, I just hang out on the BBS and pico-8 discord a lot! :D

Wow, I had 500 of everything and happiness on 100 but I couldn't make the villagers go above 15, I thiught it was by design.
I finished the game. (Couldn't be bothered to wait for pop to grow to max)
is there a save option, i am using the linux edition and i didnt find a save button/anything similar
